our story

The Boyne Music Festival was established in 2013 by twin sisters Aisling and Julie-Anne Manning and their cousin Deirdre Brenner. The aim was to bring international performing artists to the Boyne Valley for a weekend of chamber music, poetry and song. The beauty of the surrounding landscape and the intimacy of Townley Hall have attracted both artists and audience members from near and far ever since and welcomes the return of festival friends year after year.

The BMF is committed to engaging in the vibrant cultural scene in Ireland and is particularly interested in supporting the development of young musicians in the country. Programmes designed for both young children and aspiring young artists are significant parts of the festival each year and plans to expand these activities in the future are in the works. In a rather short period of time, the BMF has developed a reputation as a significant international music festival and looks forward to many promising years ahead.
